Here is a short summary of the VAT measures introduced in Denmark to assist businesses during the coronavirus pandemic. It is not a extensive list so feel free to add to it by reply or add any other information or ideas that may be useful to Danish businesses in these troubling times.

    • Small and medium sized companies which have paid VAT in March 2020 (relating to the second half or Q4 2019 period) may apply for having the amount paid out as an interest-free loan (repayable by 1 April 2021).
    • Small sized businesses in Denmark (turnover below DKK 5m) may consolidate their bi-annual 2020 VAT returns to benefit from less admin and VAT cash-flow perspective. Similarly, medium sized businesses (turnover between DKK 5m and DKK 50m) may consolidate their Q1 and Q2 2020 VAT returns.
    • For large companies in Denmark (above DKK 50m turnover) the VAT filing and payment deadlines are extended by one month.
